Angel WishesGlenavon football club were delighted on Friday night to announce the Club’s official charity for the 2016-17 season – Angel Wishes NI.

Angel Wishes is a new registered charity set up by Gaye Kerr in memory of her children, Helen aged 3 and Brian aged 10, who both sadly passed away with cancer related conditions.

Angel Wishes support all children throughout Northern Ireland with cancer related conditions. When your child is diagnosed with a cancer related condition you entire world is thrown into turmoil. A simple trip to the shop with your child is a thing in the past as they are unable to mix with others for fear of catching an infection which they would be unable to fight. Families are kept isolated from extended family and friends. The entire journey leaves the parents fearful of meeting people and being constantly concerned about infection others may carry.

Angel Wishes will bring as much normality back to the family as possible with private viewings at the cinema, private bowling alley trips, superheroes home visits….the list is endless. Some of the amazing work they have done can be seen on their Facebook page. Angel Wishes is run purely by volunteers with 100% of all donations going directly back to our wonderful children. Please can you help them put smiles on children’s faces as they fight the biggest fight of their lives. Angel Wishes will be doing a number of bucket collections and arranging events during the season. If you wish to donate now however you can visit their Just Giving page.
