Dylan King has tonight joined Coleraine for an undisclosed fee. Gary Hamilton explained that Coleraine had made an offer and, with Seamus Sharkey joining earlier this month, Andrew Doyle expected back to fitness fairly soon, Caolan Marron and Daniel Larmour plus the ability of Eoin Wearen to play at centre half, Dylan’s game time might have been limited.

“Dylan has done tremendously well for us since he has come in but, as I’ve said previously, it’s very difficult to play two 20-year old centre halves together. If you look at all the leagues in Europe, if you get two 20-year old defenders playing in the one league, never mind the same team, you’re doing well.

“Bearing in mind all that, we had an offer that was hard to turn down. We wish Dylan all the best; he was a great lad who did well for us but, with his game time likely to be limited, we felt it was in the best interests of both parties to accept Coleraine’s offer.”

Dylan made 22 appearances for Glenavon (including 2 as a sub) since joining at the start of this season.
