ISAAC BAIRD SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURY

Glenavon’s talented young midfielder Isaac Baird has suffered a serious knee injury and may be sidelined for 12 months.

“Isaac tore his anterior cruciate ligament on Tuesday night,” explained Stephen McDonnell. “It happened during training. It is a blow for him personally and for the club. He is an important member of the squad.”

Glenavon is making arrangements for the 19-year-old to have the surgery he needs to repair the damaged knee. “The sooner he has the operation, the sooner he will be back,” added Stephen. “We are doing our best to get him into hospital as quickly as possible.”

Since breaking into the first team at the start of last season, Isaac has been one of Glenavon’s most consistent performers.

Everyone at the club hopes that the operation will be successful, and that he makes a complete recovery.
