To preserve one of our two remaining chances of European football next season we must at least equal Linfield’s result on Saturday. Most probably that means having to beat Coleraine – and then hope the Bannsiders win the Irish Cup on Saturday week!

European football and its massive cash injection is so, so essential on a regular basis if Glenavon is to continue as a leading Premiership club. The financial reward helps boost the manager’s budget; an increase in the manager’s budget coupled with European football helps attract better quality players to the club; regular European football ensures the stability of the clubs finances and playing in European competition enhances the profile of Glenavon.

With all this in mind anyone who professes to be a Glenavon supporter should be at Mourneview Park on Saturday.  Bring your scarf, bring your flag, bring your drum, be in full voice and help create the fantastic atmosphere that has seen us emerge victorious from similar big games in the not too distant past. Coleraine will have a massive following in the Glenfield Road stand. Hopefully the Geddis and Crescent stands will also be packed to their security limits and everyone will get behind Gary’s boys from the first whistle.

You, our supporters, can be Glenavon’s twelfth man. Your enthusiastic and rousing backing can lift our young team to secure the vital points at stake.
