We’re looking to recruit a number of volunteers to help with aspects of the Club’s media presence. Specifically we’re looking for help with:

  • Producing post-match video interviews with management and/or players to be posted on our website
  • Writing of match reports to be posted on our website
  • Twitter and Facebook

Anyone volunteering for the video position would have to provide their own video camera or a good quality smart phone and a tripod plus be able to edit the footage to produce a professional-looking result. I would ask anyone interested in helping to make a short video to demonstrate their talents in this regard. Maybe you could interview a friend/fellow Glenavon fan about their thoughts on the new season which starts this weekend? If possible, upload your video to a cloud service such as Dropbox, Box or OneDrive and email the link to [email protected].

Likewise, for the match report,  please submit a sample report, about 300-400 words, for example of the Warrenpoint game on Saturday or Tuesday’s Ballinamallard match, by email to [email protected].

The social media team on Twitter and Facebook is also seeking new volunteers for the new season ahead. This would include live match day tweets as well as help with graphic design for game previews and new signings. Any help or new ideas is always welcome, with over 15k followers across both platforms why not join the team?

Who knows, this could be the start of a career in the media, following in the footsteps of some of our previous volunteers such as Michael Scott (Editor of the Newry Democrat) and Gareth Hanna, Digital Sports Reporter with the Belfast Telegraph and reporter on Radio Ulster Sports Sound!
