“The entire Glenavon family has been totally devastated since the shock news of Paddy Allen’s untimely death began to filter through yesterday morning.

“Paddy was a larger than life character who always oozed positivity and good cheer. As a Glenavon fan he was ever present home and away and his rallying calls to the manager and the players, often when the going on the park was tough, became his trademark. “Keep her lit” and “one for the road Glenavon” will be sadly missed on matchdays at Mourneview and throughout the League.

“Our players and management team knew Paddy very well. They much appreciated his words of encouragement, his friendship, his positive outlook on life and I know they have all been deeply shocked and saddened by his passing.

“Glenavon has lost a true friend and generous benefactor. On behalf of the Board of Directors I wish to express sincere sympathy to Paddy’s mother and family circle. Paddy’s memory will always remain with us.”
