GARETH DEANE JOINS GLENAVON

Glenavon is pleased to announce the signing of Coleraine goalkeeper Gareth Deane.

The 29-year-old Lisburn man comes to Mourneview as Rory Brown departs for the Ballycastle Road Showgrounds. The Bannsiders have agreed to pay an undisclosed fee as part of the swap deal.

A former Queens Park Rangers trainee, Gareth won three League Championships and Irish Cup and League Cup winners medals during seven years with Linfield prior to joining Coleraine initially on loan and then permanently from 2020.

“I’m delighted to bring Gareth to Glenavon” says Stephen McDonnell. “Technically he is up there with the best in the League and at 29 is at his peak. He is a natural winner.”

Gareth will be eligible to play in Saturday’s Clearer Water Irish Cup fifth round tie against Championship side Knockbreda (1.30pm kick-off).
