STEPHEN MCDONNELL IS “MANAGER OF THE MONTH” FOR NOVEMBER

Stephen McDonnell has been named NIFL Premiership “Manager of the Month” for November. The Dundalk man, who joined Glenavon at the end of September, has completely revitalised the club’s Sports Direct Premiership campaign.

During November 2023 Glenavon defeated Dungannon Swifts (1-0), Ballymena United (1-0), Loughgall (2-0) and Newry City (3-0) in Sports Direct Premiership fixtures. It also overcame Limavady United (1-0) in the BetMcLean League Cup Second Round.

Stephen collected the award last week.

“I received the award on behalf of everyone at the club,” said the boss. “That includes coaches, players, directors and other staff. There has been tremendous unity since I arrived. Everyone is pulling together in one direction.”

McDonnell has, by common consent, done a remarkable job lifting heads and re-instilling confidence. “The players have worked particularly hard and have been willing to take on new ideas,” he continued. “They have seen the value of some of the changes we have made and that has been reflected in better performances and improved results. Long may it continue.”
