Glenavon striker Andrew Mitchell faces his former side for the first time since re-joining his boyhood club. Back in December last year at Mourneview Park the striker snatched a late goal to secure a 1-0 win for the Swifts. Gary Hamilton will be hoping that Mitchell continues the scintillating form against his former team that has seen him bag seven goals in eight league games so far.

Form Guide

After a shaky start in which they lost their opening three league games, Rodney McAree’s side has lost just once in their last five including a 1-1 draw at Seaview on Saturday. Defender Chris Hegarty is the Swifts top scorer with three league goals, including the equaliser against Crusaders.

Glenavon has won the last three league games on the trot, bouncing back after losing to the current leaders Coleraine. A win for Gary Hamilton’s side on Friday night would see the Lurgan Blues move to the top of the table, at least overnight, on goal difference ahead of the Bannsiders.

Glenavon’s haul of 19 points from the opening eight Dankse Bank Premiership games is the best in the top flight by the Club since the 1999-2000 season when the Lurgan Blues managed 17 points from the opening eight games.
