Speaking to the website from Berlin airport en-route to Minsk for Thursday’s Europa League game, Gary Hamilton officially announced today the appointment of Stephen McBride as Glenavon’s new first team coach. “I’m delighted to announce that we’ve appointed Stevie as first team coach. His vast experience in the game will be invaluable to the team and, like myself, his heart has always been with Glenavon. When he was last at the Club, as manager, in my opinion he didn’t really get the chance to build the squad he wanted, having a limited budget and with many of the players he inherited on two year deals at the time he took over.”
