In these most unimaginable of times with the world living under lockdown and football closed down virtually everywhere it really is a surreal situation. Saturday 5th March when Glenavon last played a game seems a long time ago. Facing facts, it may well be much longer again before Irish League football returns. Our reckoning is it could be late July at the earliest before a ball is kicked competitively. Hopefully initially that will be to complete the current season

It is at a time like this that the thoughts of the Board of Directors are very much with the wider Glenavon family – our managers, coaches, backroom staff, players, office staff, our groundsman, our stewards and other volunteers, our loyal supporters, our much valued sponsors and benefactors – and their nearest and dearest. Let’s not forget also those wonderful folk involved in Glenavon’s ongoing Covid-19 Response Initiative. Everyone keeping safe and well and free from the Coronavirus or other serious illness is a main priority and a fervent hope. God willing everyone will.

When football does return we earnestly believe the Glenavon family will welcome it back with open arms and a renewed enthusiasm. Meantime stay safe everyone, obey the essential restrictions being imposed upon us at the present time and take care.
