Glenavon spurned a host of goal-scoring opportunities, especially in the second half after Seanan Clucas was sent off five minutes before the interval, but it took a stoppage equaliser from substitute Stephen Donnelly to rescue a point for the Lurgan Blues after Paul McElroy had put the hosts ahead in the 70th minute. That goal came against the run of play as Glenavon was caught by a rare quick break by the Swifts who had set up from the start with a defensive formation and could even have won the game if Daniel Hughes hadn’t fluffed his lines when the score was still 1-0.
