  About Glenavon FC  

History

Formed in 1889, Glenavon FC is one of the oldest clubs on the island of Ireland and are steeped in football history. Glenavon was the first provincial club to win the Irish League championship in 1951/52 and in 1957 the first Irish League club to enter the European Cup. More recently the Club won the coveted Irish Cup in 2014 and 2016, and we are hopeful of building on these successes in the years ahead. Mourneview Park into a modern well-appointed stadium which has been consistently selected to host IFA representative fixtures up to under-21 and ‘B’ international level. Mourneview Park has also been used as a neutral venue for prestigious knockout cup ties. It is now generally accepted that our facilities rival those of the province’s international stadium, Windsor Park.

Football

The Clubs objectives are:

  • To maintain the senior status of Glenavon Football and Athletic Club Ltd and its reputation as a Premier and progressive soccer club in Lurgan, in the Mid Ulster area and Northern Ireland;
  • To foster the development of young players in terms of their soccer, social and life skills, and commitment to the sport;
  • To promote positive social and cultural integration, where appropriate, in partnership with others, in schemes that bring people together to share all that is best in football;
  • To provide an inclusive football club and facilities open to all regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or ability;
  • To pursue a programme of continuous improvement to the facilities at Mourneview Park conducive to creating a ‘family friendly’ environment, attracting increasing attendances, and enhancing our sources of income;
  • To expand links with the education sector, young people’s and community organisations to support positive interest in the Club, soccer in general and in personal and social development; and
  • To provide the best quality service for the club’s supporters and to strive to meet their expectations for success.

Academy

The Academy at Glenavon Football Club has core values that provide the foundation for all good practice. Its core values include quality, organisation, child centeredness, discipline, success and honesty. Its objectives are:

  • To produce players who are capable of playing in the first team squad, at Irish League level or higher;
  • To promote a caring environment in which young players may fulfil both their educational and playing potential;
  • To develop and promote football education within both the local and wider community;
  • To develop a soccer scheme for boys and girls between the ages of four and sixteen; and
  • To educate and promote all young players to maintain a healthy well-balanced diet and lifestyle.

Sustainability

We have developed a Sustainability strategy with a clear ‘Road to 2030’ framework to ensure we are limiting the impact of our activities on our environment and eco systems.

Ambition

Glenavon Football Club has ambition to continue to develop both on and the field of play. There are plans to expand Mourneview Park’s capabilities and transform it into a community hub with accessible spaces for all, regardless of race, gender, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation. There are well developed plans to establish a Women’s Football Team with the aim of competing in the NI Women’s Football League. We have developed a Sustainability strategy with a clear ‘Road to 2030’ framework to ensure we are limiting the impact of our activities on our environment and eco systems.

Community

The Club seeks to use the power of sport, and football in particular, to heal community tensions and to provide a platform for those seeking to address a range of health, well-being, and social issues. The Club is proud of the fact that despite the years of conflict in the province, it has remained a cross community Club, with both communities represented in our board of directors, management, supporters, volunteers and playing staff.

The Club are proud to be in partnership with Love Life Counselling, Just a Chat and are currently working with the British Heart Foundation.

The Club has willingly embraced the UEFA Ten Point
Plan to ensure that Mourneview Park remains a welcome and inclusive place for all.

Gold Package

Gold Package would include:

  • Kit including training kit & academy kit (new corporate sponsor can be unveiled along with new shirt)
  • Merchandise sold in BlueZone
  • VIP access (car park, directors pass, directors box and boardroom)
  • Signage on the Crescent Stand and behind the goals (where Bedeck signs currently are)
  • Name on media boards, website, screen, and all Club literature
  • Advertising on website, social media, and screen
    Naming of the current Bedeck Lounge
  • Any promotion the company might want to do at the Club, e.g. cars (if it was a car dealership), promotional flyers, offers etc.

Silver Package

Silver Package would include:

  • Back of shirt including Academy kit (new corporate sponsor can be unveiled along with new shirt)
  • VIP access on 5 occasions per season
  • Stadium signage
  • Name on website, screen and media boards
  • Advertising on website, social media, and screen
  • Any promotion the company might want to do at the Club, e.g. cars (if it was a car dealership), promotional flyers, offers etc.

Bronze Package

Bronze Package would include:

  • Shorts including Academy kit (new corporate sponsor can be unveiled along with new shirt)
  • Stadium signage
  • Name on website and screen
  • Advertising on website, social media, and screen
  • Any promotion the company might want to do at the Club, e.g. cars (if it was a car dealership), promotional flyers, offers etc.

General Sponsorship

This would include all other sponsorship opportunities such as:

  • Stand naming
  • Prominent pitch side advertising within the main TV arc
  • Screen
  • Matchday sponsorship (match sponsor, ball sponsor and MoM sponsor)
