Glentoran beat Glenavon 2-1, in a feisty preseason friendly.

An early goal from Joe Thomson, put Glentoran ahead.

Glenavon did well to compose themselves with Carlin and Malone taking control of the midfield.

A glorious though ball by Murphy, gave McDaid the opportunity to muscle through the defence and slide the ball past the Glentoran keeper for an exquisite equaliser.

In the last minute of the first half, Glentoran’s Liam Burt spotted Ryan of his line and lobbed the keeper from 25 yards.

It was a goalless run-of-the-mill second half, with numerous substitutions. McGovern’s fizzing shoot from range, just over the bar, being the brightest moment.
