Lurgan Blues hit Jack-pot as Henderson Moves to Mourneview

Glenavon FC have completed the signing of Jack Henderson, from Annagh United for an undisclosed fee.

25-year-old Henderson began his career at Glentoran and enjoyed a couple seasons with Ballymena either side of spells at Bangor and even had a stint in America playing college football with William Carey Crusaders. He later played a season with Portadown before moving to Annagh United.

Jack’s time at the BMG Arena saw him become a dependable and regular performer the Annagh. His performances helped drive the club’s push for promotion to the premier league and led to him being nominated for championship player of the year last season.

Now at Mourneview Park, Henderson arrives with solid experience across both divisions and a clear upward trajectory — a positive addition to Glenavon’s squad.

Glenavon Manager Michael O’Connor is pleased with his new signing saying,

“Jack is a very welcome addition to our midfield options. He’s played over 100 games and has a lot of experience both at championship and premiership level.”

Regarding what he expects from his new midfielder O’Connor continued, “Jack is a very combative midfielder and he’ll give us a real bite. We’ve lost a couple of players in there in recent weeks with injuries and Ben Wilson’s move to Brentford so it was vital that we filled that void. I’m also excited to see the energy and quality Jack will contribute to the team.”
