Glenavon FC Launches New Development Centre
Expression of Interest Now Open for Young Players Across Lurgan and the Wider Community
Glenavon Football Club is delighted to announce the launch of the Glenavon FC Development Centre, a new initiative designed to provide affordable, enjoyable and professional football coaching for boys and girls of all abilities.
The Development Centre will officially begin on Sunday 4 October 2026, with sessions taking place every Sunday at Mourneview Park 3G Pitch, Lurgan.
The programme has been created to give young players the opportunity to develop their football skills in a safe, positive and inclusive environment, while becoming part of the wider Glenavon FC family.
Develop. Enjoy. Achieve.
The Development Centre will focus on more than simply football.
Players will be encouraged to develop:
- Football skills and understanding
- Confidence
- Teamwork
- Respect
- Discipline
- Friendships
- A love of the game
The programme will be delivered by qualified coaches, with player development and enjoyment at its heart.
Two-Block Season
The Development Centre will operate across two 22-week blocks, providing players with a structured programme throughout the football year, with a break over the Christmas/New Year period.
Block 1:
Sunday 4 October 2026 – Sunday 21 March 2027
Block 2:
Sunday 28 March 2027 – Sunday 22 August 2027
Affordable Monthly Fees
The standard cost will be just £27 per player, per month.
A discounted rate of £17.50 per player, per month will also be available for eligible families, including:
- Families with more than one participating child
- Current Glenavon Academy players
- Current Lurgan Town players
Our aim is to ensure that cost does not become a barrier to children accessing high-quality football coaching.
A Pathway for Young Players
The Development Centre will also form an important part of Glenavon’s wider player-development vision.
Our long-term pathway is:
Development Centre → Academy → Scholarship → Reserve Team → First Team
The ambition is to create opportunities for talented and committed young players to progress through the Club’s football structure.
However, the Development Centre is open to players of all abilities. Whether a child is playing football for the first time or already involved with a local team, the focus will be on helping them enjoy football and become the best player they can be.

Parents and guardians who are interested in their child joining the Glenavon FC Development Centre can now register their interest.
Places and further programme information will be communicated to families following the Expression of Interest process.
