THE MASTER McGRATH HERITAGE KIT

Master McGrath is one of the most celebrated names in Lurgan sporting history. The legendary greyhound won the Waterloo Cup three times in 1868, 1869 and again in 1871 and has become synonymous with the town. His legacy of excellence and success has remained an enduring part of the town’s sporting heritage.

His image has also long featured within the identity of Glenavon Football Club, taking pride of place on the club crest.

For our 2026/27 Third Kit, we have chosen to bring Master McGrath to the forefront, recognising his prominence in the club’s history. Replacing the traditional club crest, his iconic image takes pride of place on a shirt that celebrates our heritage, our town and a legend whose legacy continues to be part of the Glenavon story.
