Glenavon FC are delighted to announce that Niall Quinn has signed a one year extension to his contract to remain at the club for the 2026-27 season.

The former Linfield player has so far turned out 97 times for the club since signing from the Blues in 2023. He has scored 5 goals in that time, none more memorable than his last-minute free kick to seal victory in the Boxing Day derby win over Portadown in 2024.

Highlighting the importance of Quinn’s experience Michael O’Connor said, “You know what you get with ‘Quinny.’ Whether it’s at training, in the changing room or on the pitch he leads by example with how he applies himself. He’s also a real quality player who had a trophy-laden career at Linfield. He shows that mentality here as well. ‘Quinny’ was excellent in some tough times last season and his leadership will again be an asset as we look to bounce back to the top flight. We have some great young players and his experience, alongside the likes of Peter and ‘Mounts’ will be vital to our success next season.”

Quinn, who turns 33 at the start of August, added, “After a difficult year for everyone connected with the club, I’m delighted to have signed a new contract. I feel I owe a lot to this club and I’m determined to help get us back to where we belong in the Premiership. The support I’ve received over the last three years has been outstanding, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.”

He continued, “I’d like to thank Mick, Doyler, Fergie and all the staff for the faith they’ve shown in me since I joined. Their support has been a huge factor in my decision to re-sign. I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and will continue to give everything I have for this football club.”
