Glenavon FC are delighted to announce the signing of Francely Lomboto from Sligo Rovers for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old striker joins Paddy McLaughlin’s side having netted 4 goals and assisting once in 25 games for Rovers this season. The Lurgan Blues’ latest signing also spent time with his native Galway United, coming through their academy, before making the move to the Showgrounds in November last year.
Glenavon manager, McLaughlin said of his new signing, “It’s great to get Francely on board. He’s a powerful and quick striker who will excite fans and score goals with the service he gets from our wide players. We’re buzzing to get him in and I have to thank the club for once again backing me in the transfer market. We know Sligo are disappointed to lose him but once we knew he may be available we moved quickly to get the deal done and we’re delighted to have him here.”
On his move to Mourneview, Francely said, “I’m delighted to join the club. I can’t wait to get the season started, to score goals and win games. That’s what I’m here to do and I can’t wait to get going!”
Welcome to Mourneview Park Francely!
