JACK MALONE SUSTAINS LIGAMENT DAMAGE
Glenavon midfielder Jack Malone did NOT suffer a fracture of his right leg during Saturday’s Premiership match against Cliftonville. However, he has sustained ligament damage. “There is no break,” reported Blues’ boss Stephen McDonnell. “But we are still concerned. He will need to be fully assessed. We can’t do that until the swelling eases.”
Jack went down in the centre circle almost on the half time whistle after competing for possession with Cliftonville’s Shea Gordon. It was an innocuous challenge. “Sometimes these things happen,” added McDonnell. “The important thing now is to get him back to full fitness as quickly as possible.”
Malone was Glenavon’s 2023-24 ‘Player of the Season.
