The first half stated with Dungannon having a lot of possession, with Glenavon having to be disciplined and patient off the ball. The young blues worked hard to restrict Dungannon from playing through as Glenavon looked for opportunities to counter attack. Dunagnnon were a constant threat and made it 1-1 on the 41st minute when a good cross into the box came off a Glenavon defender and into the net.

The second half was a more open game with Liam Corr unfortunate not to score early on when he pulled his shot wide of the goal after a good run in behind. Both teams constantly looked to attack, but it was Dungannon who got the breakthrough when the Glenavon defence failed to clear the danger which allowed Dungannon through on goal to make it 2-1.
