Glenavon FC U20s 4–2 Ballymena United FC U20s
On Monday evening Glenavon U20’s hosted Ballymena U20s at Mourneview Park.
Before the game started both teams observed a minute’s silence after the passing of former Glenavon Vice-Chairman John Sinnamon.
The first half started with Glenavon having most of the ball and creating the majority of the early chances.
The opening goal came on the 27th minute when Cormac McNally’s great strike from 25 yards came of the post and into the net.
Ballymena responded well and found their equaliser just before half time when Glenavon failed to deal with a cross to the back post.
Ballymena carried their momentum into the second half and dominated the early minutes of the half.
Ballymena got their second goal with a good finish inside the box from a well worked move by their left winger.
Glenavon responded well, when Harry Norton’s cross found Patrick Shearer who showed good quality to turn his marker and volley the ball into the roof of the net.
Jesse Turner wrapped up the game with two great finishes in the final 15 minutes, to end the game 4-2 to the young Lurgan Blues.
