Crusaders FC U20s 3–1 Glenavon FC U20s
Glenavon U20’s fielded their youngest squad of the season last night as they made the trip to Seaview to play league leaders Crusaders and came away with more positives than negatives from the game.
The game also saw Academy players Jadon Morgan (05), Christopher Heasley (06) and Charlie McShane (07) make their U20s debuts.
Crusaders started quickest and opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the game. Glenavon reacted well from the early set back by creating a number of good opportunities, but were unable to convert any of their chances.
Crusaders showed their experience and why they are sitting comfortably at the top of the table, as they took their chances in front of goal by scoring two more quick goals before the break.
The young blues learnt from their earlier mistakes and restricted Crusaders to very few opportunities in the second half.
Glenavon pulled a goal back through Jesse Turner, but unfortunately the young blues couldn’t find that second goal, thanks to some good goalkeeping and poor decision making in the opposition box.
The players and coaching team can take plenty of positives and learning from last nights performance to take into their next games.
