Glenavon are delighted to announce the loan signing of 18-year old Sean Carey from Shamrock Rovers. He makes the switch from Tallaght to Mourneview until January.

The Clondalkin teen played for Cherry Orchard for 6 years before he signed for Rovers at the age of 14, where he trained with their academy until breaking into the first team this summer. Although he mainly featured as a right wing-back, he is able to play in any right sided position.

In an interview with Glenavon Media, Gary shared his delight at the signing.

“Sean is a player that we’ve been alerted to, he is somebody that Shamrock Rovers has very high hopes for. He’s a very fast and athletic player with a lot of ability and potential,” said the manager.
