Glenavon are pleased to announce the signing of Derry City youngster Micheal Glynn on a 1-year loan deal.
The 20-year old versatile left-back joins the Lurgan side following a year in the Premiership with Dungannon Swifts, where he made a total of 37 appearances, making 2 assists in that period. He was also part of the Ballinamallard squad who reached the 2019 Irish Cup final, where they bowed out to Crusaders.
Glenavon manager Gary Hamilton spoke to the Glenavon website following the signing:
“We’ve agreed to sign Micheal Glynn on a season long loan from Derry City, and we’re obviously delighted to get him in,” said Gary.
He added, “We played him in a game yesterday down at St. Pats and he did really well.
“He is somebody that I watched last season at Dungannon a couple of times and he impressed me. He’s young and hungry.
“He obviously wants to progress his career and get into the Derry City team, so he looks to us to come on loan for another years’ experience, like he had at Dungannon last year. We will get the good out of it, and so will he.”
Micheal becomes the fifth addition to the Glenavon squad ahead of the upcoming season.
