The U20s battled to a 4-3 victory on Monday night against a resilient Carrick Rangers team.

Glenavon took an early lead when top scorer Luca McGreevey-Couchman smashed the ball home from close range following great work on the left flank by Conor Scannell and Peter Campbell.

Ross Hunter increased the lead from the penalty spot after Campbell was tripped in the box. A superb Carrick strike reduced the deficit however Campbell fired in from distance to make the scoreline 3-1.
Just before half time a 2nd bizarre penalty decision awarded to Carrick was converted to make the score 3-2 at half time.

The 2nd half started off poorly for the hosts as Carrick capitalised on poor defending to level the scores.

The scrappy game was ultimately decided by a moment of quality from half time substitute Bradley Ingram, who raced through to round the keeper and finish from a tight angle.

Despite a poor performance, the win sees the U20s remain 5th in the league table.
