The U20s ended the year with another win at Mourneview Park, defeating Mid-Ulster rivals Portadown reserves 5-1 on Wednesday night.

Conor McCloskey got the scoring underway, rifling an early free kick into the top corner from 25 yards. Kyle Beggs doubled the lead on 20 minutes with a close range finish following excellent work down the left hand side by Josh Doyle. Doyle got in on the act shortly before half time with an almost identical finish, this time the assist was provided by Ross Hunter.

Half time substitute Luca McGreevey-Couchman made an almost immediate impression, scoring with his first touches to make it 4-0.

Ross Hunter rounded off the Glenavon scoring from the penalty spot after some over exhuberant Portadown marking from a corner.

The result sees the U20s end the year with 1 defeat in their last 10 games.
