The youngest U20s squad of the season travelled to Coleraine on Saturday afternoon and came away with a hard earned 2-2 draw.

It looked like being a long afternoon when the experienced James McLaughlin flicked in an early corner for the hosts, but Glenavon continued to press and got their reward before half time. A Luca McGreevey-Couchman effort was well saved by the Coleraine keeper, however Josh Quinn was first to react, curling the rebound into the top corner.

The 2nd half was played at a frantic pace, and it looked like Glenavon would rue their missed chances when the hosts took the lead again with 10 minutes to go. However the young Glenavon team showed real character to equalise moments later. Captain CJ Sullivan produced a moment of class to find McGreevey-Couchman and the big striker brushed aside his marker to burst into the box and drill the ball past the Coleraine keeper.

The game ended with three 15 year olds on the pitch for Glenavon, including Jesse Turner making his U20s debut, alongside Daniel Dillon who was making his 2nd appearance.
