A late late equalizer from Dungannon snatched a share of the points at Mourneview Park last night as Glenavon u20s and Dungannon Swifts u20s battled to a 2-2 draw.
The visitors capitalised on their bright start with an early goal, and it stayed that way until the break despite chances at both ends of the pitch.
The half time team talk appeared to have worked as Glenavon scored an equalizer straight after the restart. Good work by Luca McGreevey-Couchman saw his shot parried by the Dungannon keeper, however Bradley Ingram was at hand to poke in the rebound at the back post. McGreevey-Couchman then got in in the action himself, putting Glenavon ahead with a powerful burst into the box and a low shot which gave the keeper no chance. Glenavon failed to capitalize on a couple of great chances to increase the scoreline, and this came back to haunt them in the 90th minute when a Dungannon freekick was poked in at the back post.
Despite the initial disappointment with the result, the draw sees the u20s undefeated in their last 5 games.
