It’s the battle of the Blues as Glenavon return to Mourneview Park this weekend following two games away from home, as they battle it out against defending champions Linfield for the second time this year.

After a shaky start to the season and two abysmal performances against Carrick and Ballymena, Gary has hopes that our luck will soon change, coming off the back of 3 points and a clean sheet against Warrenpoint.

“I’m delighted. I’m delighted with the boys’ attitude from start to finish. I thought maybe the first 10/15 minutes we started shaky. They knew we had to come here and win today.

“The boys have worked their socks off and the two games that they’ve played poor, they’ve got what they deserved in terms of the Ballymena game and the Carrick game.

“There’s too much quality in our changing room not to get ourselves out of this run. Everybody goes through it and unfortunately for me it’s took into the testimonial year to go through that run, but it is what it is and we’ll get through it, we’ll drive through it and hopefully come out the other side and finish strongly.”

Linfield will provide a tough game, unbeaten in 4 of their last 5 games and following a 1 nil win over Cliftonville.

Glenavon won’t be short of injured players this weekend with Singleton, Haughey, Doran and McCloskey remaining unavailable for selection, whilst Ross Hunter also finds his name added to the injury list.

Tickets are still available for purchase via this link. The match will also be LIVE on BBC Sport NI and BBC iPlayer. KO 5:30.

LAST TIME OUT

Both teams saw red back in September after a clash between Doyle and Manzinga, only a few minutes into the second half, resulted in a red card apiece.

Glenavon had put in a much more improved performance after recent games to squeeze a point out of Linfield after the game ended in a stalemate.
