The U20s travelled to Ballymena Showgrounds last night to face an experienced United team and came away with a share of the spoils following an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Deservedly trailing 1-0 at half time, an excellent start to the second half saw substitute Dylan Sinnerton net a deserved equaliser.
Despite Glenavon pressure the hosts again took the lead through a Jonte Smith wonder goal, and minutes later an unfortunate own goal made it 3-1 to United, despite the best efforts of the impressive Tomas Sustek in nets.
Glenavon came close to reducing the deficit when Cameron Purdy headed narrowly wide from a corner, however substitute Luca McGreevey scored two goals in the last five minutes to secure a well deserved draw.
