Colin Coates is doubtful for tonight’s game against Larne (7.30pm and streamed on the BBC Sport NI website and iPlayer – please note the earlier kick off time).

The defender was replaced during Saturday’s game against Cliftonville at Solitude after injuring his hamstring.

“We gave the players last night off just for an extra night’s recovery after playing on a 4G pitch on Saturday,” Gary Hamilton told the Glenavon website.

“We won’t find out the full extent of Coatesy’s injury until tonight but going by Saturday it looks doubtful.”

There is good news, though, with the news that Michael O’Connor comes back into the squad for the game. The last time the two teams met he scored a fantastic goal at Inver Park.

“It’s going to be a really difficult game against Larne, considering that they are full time and their recovery and rest is going to be better than ours,” Gary added.

“They’ve been playing regularly since the wee break that we had, but we need to roll our sleeves up again and try and get going again.

“[Saturday] was our first game back in a month and it’s going to take us longer to recover from that. “We’re probably going to have to change up a couple of positions and that’s going to have an impact. We’ll try our best and see where it takes us.”

LAST TIME OUT

A late winner by Johnny McMurray denied Glenavon a deserved shared of the spoils at Inver Park on Saturday. Michael O’Connor lobbed Conor Devlin with the last action of the first half from a free kick, but Ronan Hale put the visitors back on level terms with a wonderfully struck curling shot from 25 yards out with 20 minutes to go. On the stroke of 90 minutes McMurray took a great touch down the right hand side and rifled the ball home to send Glenavon home empty handed.
