The Board of Directors would like to sincerely acknowledge all our off-the-field team involved in the preparation for and organisation of Saturday night’s derby game, arguably the most planned in the history of Glenavon FC.
Special thanks to our Covid-19 Officer, the chair and members of our Covid-19 Committee, our stewards and marshals, our admin staff and not forgetting those volunteers who helped paint and freshen up the stadium for the big kick-off. Thanks also must go to our supporters for attending in good time and willingly accepting the advice and guidance of stewards and marshals in relation to protocols and seating arrangements.
It was important Glenavon could demonstrate to a live media audience that it is well capable of organising crowds and ensuring protocols are adhered to. Those seated within Mourneview Park on Saturday night did themselves, our Club and indeed Irish League football proud.
It’s a pity was the result was so disappointing – hopefully there will be better days ahead.
