The Danske Bank Premiership season will be back with a bang on Saturday, October 17 as Glenavon host Portadown at Mourneview Park in an opening day Mid-Ulster derby.

The fixtures for the new season have just been revealed by the Northern Ireland Football League.

The game will be the first league game Glenavon will have played since March 7, when we took on Larne at Inver Park.

That’s followed by a trip to the Oval to play Glentoran on Saturday, October 24 before Dungannon Swifts come to Mourneview on Saturday, October 31.

The Boxing Day clash against the Ports this year will be played at Shamrock Park, while other festive fixtures include games against Warrenpoint Town away (Saturday, December 19), Ballymena United at home (Tuesday, December 29 – 7.45pm kick-off) and Linfield at Mourneview Park (Saturday, January 2).

Our final game before the split is also against Linfield at Mourneview Park on Saturday, April 24.

The first split game is scheduled for Friday, April 30 with the Irish Cup final to be held on Saturday, May 1. The finalists are scheduled to play their matchday 34 game on Tuesday, May 11.

The other split games are scheduled for Tuesday, May 4; Saturday, May 8; Saturday, May 15 and Saturday, May 22.
