Glenavon is saddened to report that Patsy Cush, wife of the late Bobby Cush, and sister-in-law of the late Wilbur Cush, has passed away following a short illness. Born in Lurgan’s Alexandra Square, Patsy had a lifelong connection to the club. She was the eldest daughter of former player and assistant-trainer Eddie Magill. In the early 1900s other family members played in the team and also served on the club’s Management Committee. Patsy’s younger brother Jim, who lives in Denmark, enjoyed a distinguished career with Portadown, Arsenal and Northern Ireland. Until recently Patsy regularly attended Glenavon’s home fixtures accompanied by her grandchildren. She was an active member of Saint John’s Church of Ireland in Sloan Street. A bright, friendly person, she was devoted to her family. Sincere condolences are extended to her brother Jim, sister Brenda, daughters Randie, Wendy and Patricia and the entire family circle at this very sad time.
