Goals from Michael Carvill after 16 minutes and a scorcher from former Glenavon winger Mark Patton just before half time has the hosts well in control at the break.

Alan Teggart was sent off in the 64th minute for a studs-up tackle on Jack O’Mahony and Rhys Marshall headed in from the resulting free kick by Sammy Clingan but Glenavon was unable to force the equaliser despite going close on several occasions.
