A superb performance by Glenavon brought Coleraine’s long unbeaten home record to an abrupt end at the Showgrounds.

After going behind against the run of play to an Aaron Burns header Glenavon struck back with two goals in less than a minute. Rhys Marshall tapped home the equaliser before Stephen Murray headed Glenavon deservedly in front.

The big striker completed his second hat trick of his Glenavon career with two fine second half finishes to complete a thoroughly deserved 4-1 victory that ensures the Lurgan blues will hold onto top spot regardless of the result of Monday night’s game between Glentoran and Linfield.
