It’s 3rd versus 4th tomorrow (Tuesday) night (kick off 7:45pm) as Linfield are the visitors to Mourneview Park for the first of five ‘massive’ post-split games. The gap between the two sides has narrowed to three points following some disappointing results for the Lurgan Blues in March but Gary Hamilton will be reminding his players of the two outstanding performances against David Healy’s side at Windsor Park which saw Glenavon come away comfortable winners on both occasions.

Andrew Mitchell is back from suspension. MC

Mark Sykes completes a two game ban but Bobby Burns, Simon Kelly and Andrew Mitchell are available after they missed the last game at Dungannon through suspension. Andrew Doyle should also be available after recovering from a recurrence of a back spasm.

“I’m delighted to have these guys back,” Gary told us. “We need as many bodies back as we can for this game and it’s also good to have competition for places going in to these final games which are all massive games for us. I’m also hoping the fans will come out in big numbers for all these games and really get behind the lads – starting with tomorrow night’s game which is a huge one for both clubs. It really does make a difference to the confidence of the players if they can hear the fans cheering them on.

“We need to go out tomorrow and put in as good a performance as we can. It’s a big opportunity for the boys to pull six points clear but by the same token if we get beaten it’ll narrow it down to nothing. It’s a massive game for both clubs and all we can ask for is 100% from theĀ  lads and hopefully their ability will tell and get a result for us.

“The one thing you hope in the last five games remaining is because they’re all big teams and the players should motivate themselves and if they do that and play to their potential there are possibilities and opportunities of winning every game. They also know if they don’t do that, that every team is capable of beating us. We just have to make sure we go out and give it everything and hopefully that’ll be enough.”

No tickets required for this game, pay at the turnstiles.
