Glenavon host the League Cup holders Cliftonville in Wednesday night’s quarter final at Mourneview Park – kick off 7:45pm. The Reds are hoping to go all the way and win the trophy for a fifth consecutive season. Although Cliftonville won the recent league encounter at Solitude 3-0, Glenavon boss Gary Hamilton felt his team had actually played well for the first hour until two goals in four minutes effectively ended the contest. It’s a competition he wants to go as far as possible in but he knows it’ll be a tough game against the holders, with a place in the semi-final at stake tomorrow night.

Joel Cooper is suspended for Glenavon after receiving what looked a very harsh second yellow card near the end of Saturday’s league win against Ards. Mark Patton is hopeful of returning to the squad after not being risked on the plastic pitch at Clandeboye Park. David Elebert is a doubt but his 18-year old replacement Caolan Marron put in a man of the match performance while making his league debut against Ards on Saturday.
