Gary Hamilton has made his first new signing of the 2016/17 season by securing the services of Carrick Rangers centre half Andrew Doyle.

IMG_8411Doyle joined Carrick from Ballyclare Comrades in June 2015 and Gary Hamilton reckons he has a lot of similarities to Conor Dillon who isn’t available next season following his move to Australia. “Andrew has many of the same attributes that, in my opinion, made Conor one of the best centre halves in the league last season,” Gary explained on Tuesday evening after he and Doyle completed the formalities on a one year deal.

“Hopefully playing and training with the better players in our squad, if he shows the right attitude, it will see him learn and improve. He has spent most of his career playing in the Championship but, as we have seen with Joel Cooper and Andy Hall, if the player has the right attitude and commitment, then he will be a success at Glenavon.”
