The Board of Directors and Glenavon Development Group would first like to thank all who participated in the Glenavon 125th Anniversary Mega Draw. The draw was the most successful in the club’s history generating over £20,000 income for the Club. Importantly, the success of the draw meant that the Board of Directors is able to use the profit generated to help the manager attract quality players to the club. Whilst the board has been encouraged greatly by the upturn in attendance in recent years, gate receipts alone are not sufficient to enable an Irish League Premiership club to function successfully. It is essential that clubs generate income through other sources such as sponsorship, advertising and various fundraising activities.
The fortunes of Glenavon Football Club, both on and off the field, have improved significantly in recent years. The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring this progress is maintained. To help us achieve this goal the board has taken the decision to launch a further fundraising draw tomorrow in the Bedeck Suite: Mega Draw 2. As you will see it again offers the opportunity to win an attractive range of prizes including a top prize of £20,000. Once again there will also be sellers’ prizes. The draw will be formally launched tomorrow following the Linfield game, with early bird prizes on offer for early entries.
