Saturday was a sad but very special day as far as our match and ball sponsors were concerned. Fulfilling a promise made by Mark Farren before his untimely death, Mark and his wife Terri, her uncle Don Holmes of First Class Builders sponsored both the Match and the Match Ball, accompanied by many of Terri and Mark’s family and friends. It had been Mark’s wish to sponsor a game to thank the club and supporters for the help and support they gave him during his brave battle with cancer.

Before kick-off Gary Hamilton presented Terri with a special framed photograph of Mark celebrating after scoring for Glenavon and in the Bedeck Suite after the game Terri unveiled a framed Number 10 Farren shirt that will act as a memorial to one of local football’s greatest strikers who was taken from us far too soon.
