Glenavon Football Club has received the very sad news that our former player Mark Farren has passed away in the early hours of this morning after a long and brave battle with illness.
The sincere condolences of everyone associated with Glenavon go out to Mark’s wife Terri-Louise and his family circle and friends at this extremely sad time.
“We have lost a very special person,” Gary Hamilton told the Lurgan Mail. “He was an incredible man. Most of all, he was humble and despite being perhaps one of the greatest finishers in our game, he was always trying to improve and get better.
“Terri-Louise and Mark are a special couple. They had a remarkable bond and she has been at his side through this very difficult time. It’s so sad that he was unable to return to Mexico for more treatment.”
