1085291_1222433627772919_1084203823_nGlenavon go into Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership game against basement strugglers Warrenpoint Town looking for a sixth win in seven games. Gary Hamilton wants no complacency from his players and will be aiming to put The Point on the back foot from the first whistle. “We’ve drummed it into the lads that winning this match is as important as beating Linfield or Coleraine – you get the same three points no matter who you beat. The lads have to go into the match with the right mindset and show the same attitude, hunger and desire that they showed last Saturday and in most of the games this season,” Gary told the website.

“There is a lot of talk about how long it is since Warrenpoint won a league game. We do not fear any team, but we know all runs come to an end and we have to make sure it’s not against us. We have to get together as a team and play as a team and we must be thoroughly professional in our approach and treat this game as we do any other.”

Warrenpoint Programme CoverKris Lindsay came off as a precaution last Saturday but it was just a case of a bad cramp in his hamstring. No risks were taken with the skipper who has played in over 20 games this season and, with Simon Kelly, has forged a great partnership at the centre of defence.

Kevin Braniff is fully recovered from his hamstring injury and is raring to get back. He remained on the bench last weekend as no chances were taken due to the heavy pitch at the Coleraine Showgrounds.

Barry Gray must do without the services of Mark Clarke and Liam Bagnall who were both sent off in the mid-week JBE League Cup semi-final defeat to holders Cliftonville at Milltown. A single goal, scored in the second minute of extra time, was all that separated the two sides and that performance will give Gray hope of causing an upset tomorrow in what promises to be a tough game despite the visitor’s poor league form.
