danske-logoGlenavon travels to Coleraine tomorrow for what promises to be an intriguing clash between two of the form teams at the moment. Coleraine’s long unbeaten run, which ended last Saturday at Windsor Park, began after the last defeat on September 12th, ironically by Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

Gary Hamilton regards tomorrow’s game as an opportunity to close the gap on the Bannsiders to just two points and, as always, he’s going there with the aim of winning.

The Glenavon boss has been boosted by the excellent business he concluded this week, securing extended deals with Andy Kilmartin and Mark Sykes and reaching agreement with Daniel Kearns that he would be remaining until the end of the season. Gary was delighted with this hat-trick of signings as he told the Lurgan Mail at training on Thursday night – Interview

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s trip Gary told us “We want to win every game whether its against Coleraine or anyone else. It doesn’t always work but that is our aim in every game.

“It’s a massive test for us tomorrow against an in-form team who are up there along with Crusaders and Cliftonville. Oran has them playing good stuff with a lot of young players who have the hunger and desire which is hard to beat. In many ways they are like ourselves with exciting young talent blending with experienced players.

“We’ve seen the transformation over the last few seasons; we have to bring younger players through and give them the chance as there simply isn’t the money in Irish League football otherwise. There are huge benefits to the Club as well; when the young players come through they have a real feeling for the Club and great enthusiasm.”
