Gary Hamilton has confirmed to the website this evening (Thursday) that exciting young midfielder Mark Sykes has signed a two year extension to his contract and Daniel Kearns has agreed to stay until the end of the season.

Sykes, who only turned 18 in August this year, has recently established himself as a regular starter in Glenavon’s midfield and has been putting in some impressive performances alongside veteran Andy Kilmartin who also signed a contract extension earlier today.

Speculation had been rife that Kearns was interesting a number of sides both in the Irish League and across the water so securing this commitment from the talented attacking midfielder is a real coup for Gary and Glenavon FC.
