Friday Night Glenavon v GlentoranGary Hamilton is hopeful of picking up his first home league points on Friday night as Mourneview Park hosts a Glentoran team coming to terms with life without Jordan Stewart who has joined Swindon Town on a two year deal.

The teams met each other five times last season with four league games and a third round League Cup match which the Glens won 5-1 at Mourneview Park after Glenavon’s goal scorer on the night, Conor Dillon, was harshly sent off for a hand ball in the box. In the league games it was three wins to Glenavon and one to the Glens. With an average of 4.4 goals in games between the sides last season, Friday night should provide plenty of entertainment. The game kicks off at 7:45 pm.

Hamilton was pleased with the performance last Saturday against the champions Crusaders and felt that Glenavon deserved at least a point but an unfortunate own-goal handed all three points to the Crues. “If the boys play and perform like they did against Crusaders then we’ve every chance. Crusaders won the league at a canter last season and we weren’t far away from them last week so hopefully we can pick up the points against Glentoran on Friday night,” Gary said.
