Following  on from the visits of TNS and St Johnstone there is another attractive pre-season friendly at MVP this Saturday with the visit of an exciting Everton Under 21 side.

The visiting team will feature some of the most promising young players at Goodison Park. The squad, managed by former Everton favourite David Unsworth, is currently based in Dublin as part of a week long training exercise. Saturday’s game is one of only two they will play during their visit to Ireland; tonight (Wednesday) they face League of Ireland side, Bohemians, in Dublin.

Everton has a tremendous record in developing outstanding young players, John Stones and Ross Barkley being the most recent to have broken through to the first team, and Saturday’s game presents a fantastic opportunity for our supporters to see potential Premiership players of the future.

Everton legend Joe Royle will also be part of the visiting party on Saturday in his capacity as Professional Development Coach at Goodison Park.

Due to our Europa League commitments, we have had to postpone the proposed friendly this coming Friday with our friends from Stranraer Football Club who will instead be playing Portadown at Shamrock Park.
