As the Club get its preparations underway for a Europa League trip to Belarus at the beginning of July, we welcome two top-class sides from Wales and Scotland to Mourneview Park on Tuesday and Wednesday evening this week.

First up on Tuesday its the visit of The New Saints who are the outstanding team in the Welsh Premier League; having won it 5 times in the last six seasons and their line-up contains a number of players with Football League experience. TNS will be on their way in a week’s time to the Faroe Islands to face B36 Torshaven in their Champions League tie.

On Wednesday another team of ‘Saints’ in the form of top SPL side St. Johnstone are the opposition. The Perth side, under the management of former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Tommy Wright, lifted the Scottish Cup for the first time in their history last season to cap an excellent season in the SPL.

Both teams have, like ourselves, qualified for European competition this season and should provide a good test for Gary Hamilton’s squad and no doubt some excellent entertainment for the fans. “To get games against this type of opposition is fantastic for us as we prepare for our Europa League ties,” said Hamilton. “The New Saints won their league by 18 points – streets ahead of anyone else while St. Johnstone finished fourth in a highly competitive Scottish Premier League.”

The St. Johnstone game is kindly being sponsored by Source Products Ltd.

Both games kick off at 7:45pm and admission prices have been set at £5 and £2 for Tuesday night and £10 and £7 for Wednesday night, great value for a chance to see two top sides in action.
