Northern Ireland Women's' Football AssociationLADIES TEAMS RESULTSWed 13th June: Glenavon Ladies 1-3 Northland RaidersForced to field a side depleted through injury and with leading scorer Vicki Hannon on holiday, the Glenavon Ladies nevertheless took the lead against Northland Raiders midway through the first half, Gee Hayes scoring from 10 yards after a corner was not cleared properly. Northland hit back with two goals just before half time though an Adele Gillespie free kick could have drawn Glenavon level only for a good save by the visitors' keeper. The Raiders wrapped things up with 5 minutes to go to deservedly take home a 3-1 win and 3 points in a low-key game. Wed 6th June: Glenavon Ladies 3-5 Glentoran Belfast UtdNewly promoted Glenavon Ladies are finding life a bit tougher in the Premier Division. Despite leading 3-2 with 10 minutes to go in last Wednesday's match against joint League leaders Glentoran Belfast United, the ladies conceded three late goals to go down 3-5. The result leaves the Glenavon girls propping up the table. Wed 2nd May: Fermanagh Mallards 3-1 Glenavon LadiesGlenavon ladies made the long journey to Ballinamallard to play Fermanagh Mallards in the first game in the Premier league season but suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat. The Ladies started slowly and give their opponents to much room and found themselves down 3 -0 at half-time. This score line could have been a lot more but for some excellent saves in goal by Francis Jackson. During the half-time break the girls' new Coach and Manager asked for a much improved second half and reshuffled the team formation. This new formation seem to work and the girls settled and came more into the game and made the Mallards work hard. In the second half Glenavon were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and with 15 minutes to go from the resulting free kick Adele Gillespie's cross when straight in. Glenavon came close again with a flashing header just going wide with 5 minutes to go.
